Capabilities - Straightening

The straightening area will work to bring shafts or other parts into the proper tolerance for straightness by placing a stress higher than its yield strength to remove any warp and distortion.  As a possibility, the initial choice of steel relevant to the heat treatment required can determine whether distortion will play a part in the final outcome of the produced product.  The severity of machining and the defects that hide, within the steel, can be factors to why post-straightening may be necessary. For the straightening process, we have on-site a 36" Bench Center, a 16" Arbor Press, and a 20 Ton Manual Hydraulic Press.
